Let's Draw Peregrination of the Deliverer!

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 27, 2009, 6:48 AM

Here's the scenario:
You remember PotD issue 4? You should, it didn't come out too long ago. It's story was rather sidequest-y wasn't it? That's alright, it was supposed to be. The fact is that we're actually pretty close to the end of Peregrination of the Deliverer and I'm actually getting pretty excited. However I've got a plan I intend to follow through with! I'm hoping there's only one issue left to do after issue 5, two tops! The thing is, issue 5 is once again a sidequest issue, or a prequel, a flashback issue to be exact. Issue 5, similar to issue 4, will deviate from the main story and I think it's necessary, I'd like the characters to have a little more background, but I also know it would be nice to get on with the main story.

So here's the proposal:
Help me draw issue 5 of Peregrination of the Deliverer. As you know I'm pretty slow at drawing these books, not only that but as a self contained story issue 5 is quite long, so please help me blast out this issue so I can continue on with the main story. I'll provide the script, designs, settings, whatever you need, I just need drawn pages that I can put word bubbles and text on to.

Some details;
Artwork:
All art skillz and stylez welcome. Multiple people doing the same pages is allowed, but in such a case I reserve the right to favor certain art over others. Don't include the dialogue, please. You're welcome to draw your own sound effects but leave the dialogue to me.

script:
I have provided the script, it is quite vague, this is actually the same format of script that I work with regularly. I have divided the script into suggested pages that the artists can choose from, I do mean suggestive. If you think a page needs more or less artwork, be my guest to move the page boundaries around, but please be mindful of the artists before and after you, give them room to work. If you pick multiple pages, you can arrange their boundaries however suits you. IF YOU WORK BEST WITH A SCRIPT WITH MORE DETAIL just email me what pages you'd like and I'll hook you up with some panel by panel action. Also, if you are certain you are contributing, please make yourself aware with the whole project. I mean: don't just pick a page of the script, look at the the character designs and go, the work will be much more consistent if you read the whole script and be aware of what other people may have already submitted, I'd really appreciate it.

published product:
I want to use your artwork for a printed book, so by submitting a page to me, be aware that you're giving me the rights to print your work in a published book and display the page online in the Peregrination of the Deliverer webcomic. The book will not be sold for profit, it is only for novelty purposes (because I like printed products) and I promise that the book will be sold for the printing base price.

REWARDS:
Yah, I can't pay you, but whoever donates a page to the project, I will buy you one copy of the finished book when it becomes available. One copy per contributor, not one copy per page entered. Sorry if it's not much, but I hope you find it better than nothing.

Seriously want to help me out? Then let's get to it!
Thanks for your help! From here on will be the things you need to know to draw for PotDV. If you don't want to spoil anything you might see in the final product, I suggest turning away now.

hmm, I haven't been drawing as much as I should... artist block? I don't really think so. More like photoshop block. I have a real hankering to do more traditional art forms, however, I'm uninspired by just pencil and I'm not being creative enough to come up with other resources to color with. So for now, I sit stagnant, waiting to feel like photoshoping the pile of drawings on my desktop.

Or maybe my grand scheme was just to change the journal on my front page, whatever works...

Hard drive failure... actually just plain failure.

Journal Entry: Sun Oct 26, 2008, 8:36 AM

I will now tell you a story of "ends".

Last week, I decide that I want to make xubuntu a permanent fixture in my laptop, so I run parted magic to make a dedicated partition for it. I was at work, and once I had run the action, it said it was going to take over 24 hours. I was leaving for a five day trip to Denver in the morning. So I quickly hit cancel.

I have learned, once a partitioner has started its job, don't hit cancel, even if it says it's only "reading disk". No more windows on my laptop. Which actually, isn't a bad thing for me. I didn't use it often, and I had my files backed up to my external hard drive so whatever.

Now, over to my desktop at home. It's been running pretty slow lately so I figure, what the hey, lets give this baby a clean install and reformat the hard drive. So I backed my files over to my external and deleted it's partitions. After running through 5 out of 6 system restore cds: "System error". *googling error numbers on laptop*. Apparently one of my ram chips has gone "faulty" and windows refuses to install. Gr. So I install ubuntu over the whole disk, since it is much less fussy about these things. But still, I need a windows side, ubuntu is terrible for media playback and wine still sucks at most windows programs. I could just buy a new ram chip but the computer's kinda old, the bios gimps out sometimes sooo....

New computer. vista 64, 6gbram, quadcore, the works. A fine feature in my living room (new stereo system for it too :O ). I decide that I want to install opensuse on it. Rerun Parted Magic. Can you guess what happens next?
Well you're wrong! My hard drive is perfectly fine! The partition program wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do, so I canceled the whole thing (before it started) and decided to do it later.

However, before my computer reboots, my external hard drive, the hard drive with allllll of my art and photoshop files, 200000 music files (legally purchased mp3s, foolish me), 100s of gbs of videos, saved games, and file preferences, it decides to run some kind of "chckdsk" or something I've never seen before. Two hours of "Orphaned file -------.--- being moved from sector xxxxxxx to sector xxxxxxx". REBOOT. (monitor doesn't load through the correct input). Hard reboot. Right click extHD, properties: 440gb used space. *whew, same as before*. Open extHD, select all folders, right click, properties, "162gb used space". WHERE DID THEY GO??? Over half of my files are missing, yet, some how, still taking up space! What the heck did my hard drive do and why did it see fit to get rid of over half of my files that where perfectly accessible before any of this ("this" which never had anything to do with my external)?! Recovery programs aren't doing anything, chckdsk says everything is okay. Ubuntu refuses to try to load it because of "mft" inconsistencies. God forbid technical suppport show a little compassion instead of trying to sell me a new drive. *sigh*

....

For the record, my old desktop is still bugging out. I'm trying to run memorytest86 on it but the serial keyboard won't work anymore in bios mode and only the serial mouse doesn't work when I boot into ubuntu. Gar.
